Introducing the Kindred Journal, designed to be a gift from you to your growing child. There are 4 types of entries:
Quotes, Memories, Apologies and Acknowledgements
The simplistic design means you can pick it up and fill it out as your child grows. Miss a year or two, that's okay, there are no blank spaces. This journal is a tribute to your child's life and developing character. It is a reference for them as an adult from a source outside themselves. Document funny or profound quotes they said. Tape in a photo or flower they picked. Acknowledge their strengths, or write down a story about a time that was so THEM. And my favorite part, Apologies - this is a space for you to apologize if you lost your patience, or you had a bad week, month or year. It's a space to apologize in real time if they might be too young to understand.
I design all my products from a place of experience. I wish I had a journal like this from my mother, who passed away quickly and with not much time to prepare. I lost her when I was 15, too young to ask many of the questions I wish I had her answers to now. She left me lots of mementos from her own life, but there is not much record of how she felt relating to me. I would have loved to see myself through her eyes.
Design enhancements not pictured here: each journal will have a gold debossed title and gold gilded edges, just like the conversation cards.
